Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie Returns Gratitude to God on His 74th Birthday Today

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie is celebrating his 74th birthday today, and the actor marked the day by being grateful to God for sparing his life to witness his new age.

’74 today! Grateful and Thankful to God almighty. Thank you for your prayers and wishes’ The ace actor wrote in a short message on his official Instagram page.

Pete Edochie was born on born March 7, 1947, and he is widely considered as the face of Nollywood. He has appeared in over 300 movies but his breakout role was when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best-selling novel, Things Fall Apart.

Edochie descends from the Igbo people of South-East Nigeria and is a Catholic. In 2003, he was honored as a Member of the Order of the Niger by then President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The veteran actor is popular with Nollywood fans around the world for his use of African proverbs and wise sayings to pass across his message.
