The 32 year old R&B star allegedly hit the woman on Friday 18 June.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department say they received a call around 7:30am prompting officers to be dispatched to San Fernando Valley area, in southern California.

Police say a Crime report for battery has been filed and LA city attorney office will now decide whether to bring any charges.

According to the police spokesperson, the singer was already gone when police arrived at the scene.

“The victim said she and the suspect were arguing before the suspect hit her,” the police ADDED.

Chris Brown also assaulted singer Rihanna, his former girlfriend, in 2009

The Grammy-winning artist was sentenced to a five year probation and community service order for assaulting his former girlfriend, Rihanna in the 2009 incident.

In 2017, another former girlfriend who is an actress and model Karrueche Tran also collected a five-year restraining order against him.
