If you couldn’t register for the 2021 Jamb UTME due to NIN problems, there will be another opportunity to take the exams.

This is according to the organizers of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination [UTME] into Nigerian universities and other higher institutions.

Joint Admission Matriculation Board [Jamb] said they will arrange a mop up exam for those affected.

Due to National Identification Number (NIN) problems, a number of candidates could not register to sit for the exam this year.

Jamb statement said the date for the mop up examination will be announced subsequently.

Some candidates couldn’t complete the registration for the exercise due to of NIN which is compulsory for 2021 registration.

But JAMB has promised to make provisions to accommodate the interest of those that fall into that category.

JAMB Acting Director, Shittu Billiaminu said they will also organize mop up examination for candidates with other pending issues.

The ‘Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination’ which started today June 19, 2021 is expected to end on 3 July, 2021.

According to the examination body, over 1.3 million candidates successfully registered for the examination.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has opened the portal for printing of 2021 Jamb exam slip.

Applicants can print their examination slips from their email inbox or they can do it from Jamb portal.

Jamb is the entrance exams for people seeking admissions into Nigerian public and private universities.

The exam slip will reflect the exam schedule for each candidate.

The 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) exams is scheduled ta take place on Saturday, 19 June and the second batch will take place on Saturday 3 July, 2021

Jamb has advised candidates to print their slips before the commencement of the exam, so they can learn their exam schedules as any form of excuse for missing the exams will not be entertained.

Why JAMB slip is important?

The main reason is to be able to know your exact date of the exam plus the venue and time of the exam.

It is advisable for candidates to know their exam venue on time in case Jamb gave them exam venue they are not too familiar with.

Invigilators will also need to see your exam slip before they will allow you into the exam hall. You need to go to the exam hall with at least a copy of the exam slip

For candidates taking subjects that involve calculations, the only paper that will be available for rough work will be your exam slip.

In case you loose your original registration slip, the printed exam slip will serve as proof that you registered for the. The information on the slip is the same on your registration slip.

How to reprint Jamb slip

• Visit https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/ExamSlipPrinting/PrintExaminationSlip
• Enter your JAMB Registration Number or Email address or Phone number
• Enter your Jamb password.
• Click on Login.
• Scroll to print UTME Main examination slip.
• Write your JAMB registration number in the provided space and.
• click “˜Re-Print’.
• Print out your slip.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Mr. Fabian Benjamin said “the result of the mock examination conducted on June 3 is ready on our website.”

The mock exam conducted by JAMB before the main UTME every year is to give candidates clues as to how JAMB UTME will be.

It exposes candidates to the way JAMB sets questions to test candidates ability for UTME, the mock exams also allow candidates to know which subjects they are weak or strong in.

Jamb statement said: “A total of 160,718 candidate indicated interest to sit for the examination but only 62,780 turned out for the mock exercise.”

The mock exam is not compulsory. It is completely optional and it is not a requirement for writing the main exam.

Mr Fabian Benjamin directed candidates that wrote the mock exam to visit their website www.jamb.gov.ng to check the results and print out their slip.

This is how to check Jamb Mock exam result from JAMB website

1. Go to JAMB portal at www.jamb.gov.ng
2. Then click on the Quick links option on the page. The drop down will show you different options, chose the Intranet login
3. If you are logging in for the first time, the username is your profile code and your password is your NIN.
4. You need to create a password for other login, your username is still your profile code.
5. To print out your mock exam slip, visit https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/ExamSlipPrinting/PrintMockExaminationSlip
6. Enter your JAMB registration number or email address in the required column.
7. Then, click on ‘Print Examination Slip’ button to access/print your Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination slip.

JAMB main UTME exam will hold on June 19 and July 3 after the exam body earlier extended registration dates to accommodate candidates with issues registering for the exam with their National Identification Number (NIN).

The Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professor Ishaq Oloyede, say the reason the board introduced the use of National Identity Number in the 2021 registration is to stop exam malpractice.

Professor Ojerinde, who was arrested on 15th March 2021, in Abuja, by operatives of ICPC, is alleged to have committed multiple frauds while heading JAMB and the National Examination Council (NECO).

A statement released by the commission says Ojerinde has been detained by the Commission for questioning over allegations of multiple identities, abuse of office, money laundering, tax evasion, and making false statements to public officials. The former JAMB boss is also being questioned by the Commission for allegedly awarding fraudulent contracts to shell companies that cannot be traced.

”He was alleged to have awarded contracts for the supply of pencil and eraser at the cost of N450 million each, to Double 07 Concept Limited and Pristine Global Concept Limited, respectively, between 2013 and 2014 while heading JAMB.

There is no evidence to show that the items which are examination materials were supplied as the contractors cannot be found.

Similar contracts were allegedly awarded to Solid Figures Limited, Holywalk Limited and other companies for various sums without any trace of executions.

Professor Ojerinde is being held on a remand warrant and will soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.’ the statement read in part.

Ojerinde was at the helm of JAMB between 2005 and 2015.

In 2015, when his successor Prof Oloyede took charge of JAMB, he reported an excess revenue of N5 billion within the first year, an incident which first bought Ojerinde’s tenure under scrutiny.

JAMB is Nigeria’s examination body which conducts entrance examinations into tertiary institutions across the country.
