Reports had it that 50-year-old Ataga was found dead, murdered in an Airbnb apartment in the highbrow Lekki estate in Lagos. His murder was pinned on Chidimma, who confessed to the killing after she was arrested in her parents home in the same Lagos. She claimed she stabbed Ataga after he had raped her and became violent with her.

However, in a fresh twist to the Ataga murder saga, Chidinma said in an interview with CrimeReporters that she did not kill the deceased and that she only walked into his murdered body after returning from where she had gone to purchase the hard drugs they were to take.

She claims to be overwhelmed after being arrested, and sensing that nobody would believe her story, she confessed to the murder to journalists who had interviewed her after her arrest.

She however maintained that she did took the deceased ATM card and withdrew money from his account.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview with CrimerFighters NG, Barrister Franklin Ufu who is a cousin to Usifo Ataga disbelieved Chidinma’s earlier confession that she acted alone in killing the deceased.

”I have had the very regretable priviledge of seeing that dead body five time. My cousin’s hands were tied so badly that the rope entered his skin. The rope is right there as an exhibit with the police,” Ufo said in the interview.

“That binding could not have been done by that lady alone, not possible, even if he was drugged. It is not possible because I saw the lady and I saw my cousin and I said this is not possible.

Apart form the fact that he was tied, there were multiple stabs on his body. So that story of two stabs and neck is not true. He was stabbed in other places, his leg. Infact in Yaba mortuary, the attendants were so dramatic that they told us clearly. The stabbing here (touching his stomach) was so bad it is a hole. The guy stuck his two fingers into my cousin’s body in my presence. He was stabbed here(touching the right side of his neck) deliberately twice and on his body multiply.”

In the meantime, Chidimma is still in the custody of the Lagos police, where she is waiting to be charged to court.

More facts have come to light on the true identity of the 21-year-old student of Unilag, Chidinma Ojukwu, who confessed to killing the CEO of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, while they were in an Airbnb apartment in Lekki area of Lagos State.

According to Vanguard, family sources claim that Chidinma who is not from a broken home as she insinuated, disowned her family due to some misunderstanding she had with her widowed mother many years ago.

The family source claims her first step after the fallout with her mum was to change her original name: Chidinma Blessing Echefu, to Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu.

One of her siblings identified simply as Chioma told detectives that they lost their father when Chidinma was barely two years old.

Her mother was said to have remarried but that her children were still with her. Along the line, Chidinma’s lifestyle reportedly changed negatively with her mother always scolding her.

She was alleged to have been discovered to be smoking when she was barely 11 years, an action that provoked her mother to chastise her.

According to the family source, the misunderstanding between Chidinma and her mum continued, forcing her to take the then-teenage Chidinma to her Uncle’s house in Mushin where she was reportedly thrown out again because of her smoking attitude. She was said to have become rebellious and stayed away from her family. It was at this point that she met Ojukwu, who took her into his Yaba abode, from where she was picked last week Wednesday.

Her mother who presently resides in Mowe area of Ogun State, was said to have told some of her relatives that she has not set her eyes on Chidinma for 10 years. Childinma’s sister, Chioma, corroborated this claim when she visited the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, Yaba.

She stated categorically that the Ojukwu who she was arrested alongside last week Wednesday was not related to her family, disclosing that they were from Imo State and not Abia State as earlier disclosed by Chidinma.

Chidinma is currently awaiting trial in police custody for the murder of Micheal Usifo Ataga, whom she clamed to have stabbed after the Super TV CEO became violent with her.

Reno Omokri, an aide to former president Jonathan has shared his thoughts about the 21 year old UNILAG student, Chidinma Ojuwku, who confessed to stabbing Super TV CEO, Usifo Ataga, multiple times which led to his death.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Reno blamed bad parenting and bad society for Chidinma’s actions. He said Chidinma was corrupted by the ‘small girl with big god” mentality. He opined that if Chidinma and Usifo’s orgy did not end up in murder, she would have also been online motivating young girls like some motivators who also get money from men to inflate their buttocks and boobs.

In his post titled “Very Unpopular Opinion” Omokri opened by telling his followers he don’t go with the crowd. He goes with his conscience.

The former aide urged Nigerians to not the 29 years age difference between Osifo and Chidima writing: ‘Everybody is in a rush to demonise Chidinma. But it takes two to tango. Chidinma is 21. Usifo was 50. Between them, there existed a 29 year age gap. She could have been his daughter.

‘How many of you condemning Chidinma were mature at 21? We are now circulating videos of her smoking. How many of you did not smoke at 21? She erred. She should be punished. However, let us try to find out why it happened and make course corrections as a society.’

A lot of Nigerians have blamed Chidima for what they describe as the ‘get rich quick’ mentality most youths have. But Omokri has a different take, he wrote: “Chidinma is also a victim. Of bad parenting and a bad society. We are now a society that is so religious that we expect ‘grace’ to cover everything.

“In Nigeria, poor parents suddenly see their young daughters with a Range Rover, and rush to church for thanksgiving, not minding what Scripture says in Deu 23:18.

“Nigeria is now a society that prioritises wealth over morals. We are a society that celebrated a billionaire, who already had a sizeable International harem, for marrying his granddaughter’s age mate. And the union was promoted and blessed by the parent. It was celebrated as a super love story in the media. That was our own fairy tale Cinderella story for young girls to look up to. And we are surprised we ended up with Chidinma?”

Usifo Ataga is reported to be married, his wife and children are said to be living in Abuja while he is based in Lagos.

While chidinma’s actions are entirely her’s, it is important to also spare a thought for the older married man who sponsored her corrupt lifestyle. Omokri continued: “Chidinma was obviously corrupted by the ‘small girl with a big God’ phenomenon. If not that their drug induced orgy ended in murder, the man may have funded her lifestyle and she would be motivating young girls on Nigerian blogs.

“Where do you think these surgically enhanced motivators get money to inflate their buttocks and their breasts? They claim to have businesses you can never see. In truth, they are senior Chidinmas, with their own ‘big gods’ in Banana Island.

“Look, Nigeria should wake up and smell the coffee. Chidinma is a symptom of the rot in our society. We are now a society of ‘no car key, no chase me’, and ‘no Range Rover, no arrange me as your lover’. The Chidinmas that were not caught are more than the ones that were caught”

Nigeria’s former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has defended murdered Super TV CEO disagreeing with the ideology of some Nigerians that Usifo Ataga maybe deserved as he was killed by his 21-year-old side chic because he was cheating on his wife.

Ataga was found two weeks ago, stabbed to death in a rented Airbnb apartment in Lagos.

Subsequent investigation by the police led to the arrest of 21-year-old Chidimma Adaora Ojukwu – who claims to have been having an affair with the Super TV boss for almost four months before his death.

While speaking to reporters after her arrest, Chidimma claimed both she and Ataga were both high on drugs the day she killed him, she further claimed Ataga had raped her and became violent with her, which was why she stabbed him in self-defense.

Since the story went viral, most Nigerians have been sharing their opinions with some blaming Ataga for his own death. Others simply say this will serve as a lesson for rich men who are in the habit of sexually exploiting young girls.

Giving his own opinion in a tweet, FFK opined that just because Ataga went to a hotel to sleep with a 21 year old lady doesn’t mean he should be butchered. According to him, Ataga was killed just because he had a high libido.

Another user was more sympathetic of Ataga in her response saying “He doesn’t deserved to die no matter what his offence was.”

Another blasted FFK saying “Yes we know FFK, yes, cos you are a champ when it comes to young women and changing them like your used boxers.”

FFK’s opinion seemed to have touched a nerve as others continued to blast the former Minister, one said: “Ok. So he is just another paedophile like you so you are rallying to support his dirty actions? Association of women abusers and those who f*ck by force by fire exploiting poverty and weakness to satisfy your libido. By their fruits you shall know them. I am by no means in support of murder by either of the sexes, don’t get me wrong but ffk get a life!”

Police say they are continuing investigations on the death of Michael Osifo Ataga, and his confessed killer, Chidimma Ojukwu remains with the police as she await her day in court.

Lagos State Police Command arrested Chidinma and named her on Thursday as the prime suspect in the murder of Usifo who was found stabbed in an Airbnb apartment last week.

“The suspect confessed to stabbing the deceased with a kitchen knife after a struggle.” Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu told reporters.

She confessed to the alleged crime in Police custody in Lagos on Thursday 24 June. Police paraded the student [Chidimma] before newsmen in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

Ataga who lives in Banana Island was reported missing by concerned family and friends to the police on Sunday 13 June.

On 20 June, police confirmed the death of Ataga, CP Odumosu told reporters that his body was found inside a three bedroom flat for Lekki Phase 1, which was rented out as an Airbnb apartment.

Chidimma Adaora Ojukwu: everything we know about her profile

Chidimma Adaora Ojukwu is a 300 level student of University of Lagos UNILAG.

She is studying mass communication at the University of Lagos, according to the police.

She lives with her parents in the Alagomeji area Yaba Lagos.

It was in this her parent’s house police say they arrested her.

Chidimma is a native of Abia state in south east Nigeria, according to what she told reporters on Thursday.

University of Lagos spokesperson Nonye Oguama has confirmed to reporters that the alleged murder suspect Chidimma Ojukwu is their student.

Untill this alleged murder investigation, she was a part-time student of Unilag, Mrs Oguama added.

Lagos police command said they arrested Chidimma at her parent’s house on Wednesday night.

Michael Usifo Ataga biography

Michael Usifo Ataga has been the Chief Executive Officer at Super Network Limited since April 2014 untill his murder, according to his LinkedIn profile.

SuperTV, is the TV service of Super Network Company which is an Over-The-Top [OTT] media streaming entertainment company in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Michael Usifo Ataga is married and has children which reports say are based in Abuja.

Late Ataga, who’s life ended at 50 years of age attended University of Benin between 1988 and 1995.

Police say investigations are still on going on the suspected murder case.

Police say Chidinma will soon be charged to court.

Reports on Friday say police also arrested her father after he tried to stop police from arresting his daughter.
