Baba Ijesha granted 2 million Naira bail in his alleged defilement trial

A Court has granted bail to Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha who is standing trial for alleged defilement of a minor.

Omiyinka Olanrewaju popularly known as Baba Ijesha was accused of sexual assault after a video of him molesting comedian Princess’s daughter went viral.

An Ikeja court sitting in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, graint Baba Ijesha bail to the tune of two million Naira with two sureties.

In the conditions given to him by the judge, Baba Ijesha must meet the bail conditions in seven days. He is to provide one lawyer, plus one Lagos resident as his sureties.

Lagos state government established a criminal case against Olanrewaju James, and recommend he face a five-count charge.

On June 16 a Yaba Chief Magistrate Court denied Baba Ijesha bail request in this case.

In Thursday’s case, Babatunde Ogala SAN is the lead lawyer representing Baba Ijesha this case.

In all, 20 senior lawyers appear for Ijesha on Thursday morning.

The prosecution was DPP, Lagos State ministry of Justice is leading the case for government lawyers.

After plenty deliberations, the court adjourned the case until the 26, 27 and 28 of July.
