Kevin Hart opens up on cheating and past homophobic tweets

Kevin Hart has admitted that he “wasn’t prepared” for the effect his scandals had on his family.

The comedian was talking to Will Smith on Red Table Talk chat show, he was reflecting on the impact of infidelity and past homophobic tweets and his relationship with his family.

“I got on some armour. It is very hard to shoot through this and bother me,” said the 41-year-old.

But he said it was a “different feeling” when his children were involved.

“When your child shows disappointment, shows emotion and you have those conversations, your head drops for the first time.”

In 2017, the Fatherhood star apologised to his wife and children, afta claiming that someone is trying to blackmail him with a video which shows him with another woman.

“I can say having a little girl in my life, is tough. You don’t realise the impact your mistakes truly has,” he added.

His kids “pulled a different emotional chord,” especially when he talked to his daughter Heaven after “the whole cheating display”.

“My talk with Heaven is one like no other,” he said.

“Getting my daughter back, getting her to understand that I’m sorry, that I made a mistake. That is real.”

Talking about his own experience, Will Smith said he and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith share everything with their kids to “get out ahead of it”.

But Kevin Hart said he “wasn’t able to get to his kids first”.

The actor also received heavy criticism after an old tweets surfaced where he showed anti-gay sentiments and used homophobic language.

At first he refused to apologise, before later saying: “I’m sorry that I hurt people”.

As a result, he stepped down as the 2019 host of the Oscars ceremony.
